The project “Integrating Climate Change into Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA)” was successfully completed, co-financed by the French Embassy, the Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs and the City of Zagreb. The project hosted a webinar – Climate change in Strategic Environmental Assessment on June 14, 2021 – with relevant French examples from urban, forestry, energy and maritime planning documents and associated climate change mitigation and adaptation measures. More than 40 representatives of practitioners, county environmental and spatial planning offices, as well as the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development participated in the webinar. The topic is very relevant given that the EU recently published Technical guidance on the climate proofing of infrastructure detailing the climate validation process for all EU-funded ‘infrastructure projects’ in the new financial period 2021-2027.
